One of America’s most iconic slogans and images is shown on this beautiful silver coin ring! Benjamin Franklin first used the rattlesnake in the 1750s and later it became a symbol of the colony’s rebellion against Britain. But it was Christopher Gadsden who married the rattlesnake to the defiant anti-British phrase “Don’t Tread on Me” in 1775 and created a flag to present to Commodore Esek Hopkins, commander of the newly formed U.S. Navy. Today, the navy’s shoulder patch still bears that slogan, but shows an uncoiled rattler.
Each 99.9% silver coin ring displays the rattlesnake with “don’t tread on me” across the top. This bold, patriotic ring makes the perfect accent for any collection or gift for a history buff.
